Alix Mosieur

Alix was born in Texas, grew up in California, and currently divides her time between Lorane, her home base, and Vida, Oregon, where she works in her studio overlooking the McKenzie River.

She studied art at Santa Barbara City College, Lane Community College, and the University of Oregon, but is largely self-taught. Alix taught painting at the Coos Bay Art Museum and also worked in the field of Special Education for fifteen years as an Art Therapist. She has received numerous awards during her 35 years as a professional painter, including:

  • 1st Place …Joseph Days Juried Show
  • 1st Place…Umpqua Valley Arts Assn. Western Art Exhibit
  • 1st Place…Klamath Valley Annual Juried Show

Honorable Mention…Nightwalker National Juried Competition in Fort Collins, Colorado.
Several years ago, Alix and her husband created their highly successful business “Red Horse Art Company” and have begun to sell their one-of-a-kind furniture, wall hangings and painted screens nationally.
