 Michele Kulp creates jewelry that is both art and symbolic journey, incorporating and combining the textures and colors of silver, brass, copper, niobium and gold. Originally designed and entirely hand-crafted, each piece flows from exploration to discovery, revealing the artist’s spiritual journey through graceful, fluid combinations of color, texture, space and form. Beginning with lines and texture, my work has evolved into a flowing, free-form experience that acknowledges my own personal growth, allowing myself to be free to create and share my creations with others. The Portal-Sentinel series, for example, comes from my own challenging walk through the portals of change. Knowing there was a sentinel, a protector at the gate, made it possible for me to take the risk, to step through the portal, and to meet myself for the first time, myself as the sentinel, the guardian of my own journey. As the journey continues, it has led me to the realization that I am not only learning to love myself, but that my journey is universal. By being able to express these emotions and feelings in my artwork, I have been able to touch many other lives
